Double the fun

What’s better than having a pileated woodpecker at your suet feeder?
How about two pileateds — a male and a female — at two suet feeders?
Diane Spicer offered this from her home at Caribou Lake:

It’s not just birds that like suet. Diane looked closely at the suet, and got a little surprise. Can you spot it here?

It’s probably hard to see in this format, but if you look closely you might see a mouse. I imagine this was a happy discovery for Mr. Mouse.

  1. Here in Park Rapids, my neighbor and I have been seeing many male and female Red Crossbills in and on the ground under our feeders for the past week, especially this weekend. Think they are not common in this area.
