Look what Diane Spicer, who lives at Caribou Lake, saw outsider her window on Sunday:
Perhaps a sign of an early spring, Diane suggests hopefully.
Maybe, although it’s known that some robins stay for the winter.
On the other hand, two Sundays ago I clearly heard chickadees give their mating call two different times. One was outside of church, the other was outside of the Wannabe ranch in West Duluth.
Some people say the chickadee mating call sounds like it’s saying “CHEESE-burger.”
I prefer to think it sounds like “SPRING-time.”
I usually hear the chickadee mating call for the first time of the year just about the time that pitchers and catchers report. For the Minnesota Twins, by the way, that day is today.
They are both signs that give me hope.
