And the owls keep coming!
Karen Kiekow, who works at Minnesota Power, passed along this picture of a boreal owl taken by her colleague Rachel Cincoski at her home in Duluth this week.

I’m told it was finishing up a tasty meal of flying squirrel.
This picture goes back farther in time, Michelle Weegman says, but it is another owl picture:

This was taken on Minnesota Highway 23 near the Nemadji River, Michelle writes.

While heading home from Sam’s club yesterday, about 6 of us saw a very large grey owl. I think it was a great grey. I was perched on a surveyor’s stick and seemed completely oblivious to everyone snapping pictures. I was 6 feet away and it was really a magnificient experience.
great pictures, especially the top one.
