I don’t think I could ever get tired of owl pictures, but it’s nice to have a change-up.
Jim Jensen in Esko has been getting visits from a brown creeper for the past month or so, he writes. He compares its appearance to a nuthatch (except that it’s brown) and says it seems to hang out with the chickadees.
“It also uses its tail like a woodpecker as a brace, and can climb up a tree but not down,” Jim writes. “It also has a curved-down beak. Nuthatches can climb up and down.”
Jim points out that the brown creeper is hard to photograph, because its brown color blends with the bark of the tree.

Love the shots of the Creeper. I don’t see them too often but I see them at least once each year.
